Technical Museum of Slovenia Collections

Visitors are introduced to the most important raw materials used in the manufacture of textiles and various types of fabrics, as well as the manufacturing procedures for natural and synthetic fibres. Prior to the introduction of imported cotton in the mid-19th century, flax, hemp, wool and silk had remained the most significant raw materials in the territory of Slovenia, whereas the second half of 20th century saw rapid development of synthetic fibres.
