How can new technologies contribute to a more sustainable future? What price does technological progress carry, and what consequences do our decisions have for the planet?

These questions are addressed by the panel exhibition My World – One Planet, on display at the Technical Museum of Slovenia in Bistra. Created as part of the European project Carbon Stories, it connects the work of acclaimed photographer Matjaž Krivic with objects from the collections of the Technical Museum of Slovenia.

The photographs take visitors to various environments around the world, presenting people, innovations, and solutions related to the green transition. The exhibition outlines different approaches to the green transition—from lithium extraction and the development of electric vehicles to the harnessing of renewable energy sources—while drawing attention to challenges such as deforestation and the adaptation of agriculture to climate change.

An important part of the exhibition consists of objects from the museum’s collections, which bear witness to past technological development and human creativity. In this interplay between historical inventions and modern technologies, it becomes clear that while innovations offer answers to social and environmental challenges, they can also carry unforeseen or negative consequences.

The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on how technology transforms our world, how people, natural resources, and global supply chains are interconnected, and what kind of future we are co-creating through our everyday decisions. After all, the future of our planet is our shared responsibility.

The exhibition is on display at the Technical Museum of Slovenia in Bistra, and you can view individual panels of the exhibition in the gallery below.
