Opening of the exhibition “Us and Them Without Frontiers” in Cleveland, Ohio
13.09.2024 - 01.01.2026
The Technical Museum of Slovenia exhibition Us and Them Without Frontiers continues its journey across the United States. It will reopen on 13th September 2024 at the Slovenian Museum and Archives in Cleveland, Ohio. Originally, the exhibition was first unveiled to the public at the City Hall in Cleveland in 2021 as part of the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Slovenia’s independence. Over the next three years, it was hosted by various public institutions across several federal states. The exhibition will now be on display at the Slovenian Museum and Archives for an indefinite period.
Us and Them Without Frontiers is a focused version of the original project by the Technical Museum of Slovenia, titled Knowledge Without Frontiers, which explores the fascinating connections between the Slovenian and American nations and the benefits derived from shared knowledge. The exhibition features individuals with a strong and direct connection to the USA: astronaut Sunita Williams, Voyager engineer Anton Mavretič, professor of experimental physics Anton Peterlin, planet hunter Marija Strojnik, professor of electronics Aleš Strojnik, Silicon Valley pioneer France Rode, and inventor Peter Florjančič. Although Herman Potočnik Noordung never visited the USA, he was a pioneer in space technology and inspired future generations of scientists in this field.
This exhibition was made possible through the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia in Cleveland and the Slovenian Museum and Archives.
