On Sunday, December 1st, we would like to invite you to the Technical museum of Slovenia in Bistra near Vrhnika from 13.00 to 18.00 to the demonstration of horseshoe-forging.
A blacksmith will show the visitors the entire procedure of horseshoe making. First he will heat a bar of iron in a soft-coal fireplace, and raise the temperature by blowing air with the use of bellows. He will hammer the heated bar on the anvil and shape it into a horseshoe. In the blacksmith’s shop he will make various hand tools.
