On Thursday, November 10, 2022, in the “Pomorskom i povijesnom muzeju Hrvatskog primorja Rijeka” together with the organization “Zajednica tehničke kulture Rijeka” we opened the guest exhibition “Outboard motors from Koper“.
In the 1990s, the Technical Museum of Slovenia acquired a collection of products from the Tomos factory in Koper. In addition to motorcycles and bicycles with a motor, which represented their main product, they also included several outboard motors, which today illustrate the development path of this segment of the factory’s production program. Tomos’ small outboard motors were at the very top of the world in terms of their quality and well known even outside the borders of the former SFRY. The most typical representatives of this group of products are presented at the exhibition, as well as some examples that did not reach serial production and were ready for the market in the 90s (when the factory decided to abandon the program).
