Avtomobil Piccolo

Piccolo passenger car

The Piccolo (the exhibited model was built between 1906 and 1911) is the oldest car in Slovenia and also one of the oldest exhibit pieces of the Technical Museum of Slovenia. The Piccolo on display has undergone many changes and transformations in its 100-year history, so today we can only speculate about its original appearance. The current old-timer appearance was given to it in the museum in the late 60s and earl 70s as old-timer fever began spreading around Slovenia in the second half of the 20th century. The story of the Piccolo also raises important questions about the various aspects, approaches and principles of preservation and restoration of old vehicles as well as the related potential dangers and consequences thereof.
