Technical Museum of Slovenia Collections

Engine in agriculture

In this collection, which is arranged as a demonstration depot, you can see tractors, stable engines, steam engines and a horse-capstan. The oldest tractor from the collection is from 1920, the youngest from 1977. A part of the collection focuses on demonstrating and explaining how machines work.
This part of the exhibition is set up in such a way that our visitors can get insight into the working of the petrol stable engine that uses a continuous belt to drive multiple peripheral devices – machines. In the past, steam engines, also known as locomobiles, were used to drive larger agricultural machinery.
The oldest locomobile in TMS was built in 1903; it is still fully functional despite its venerable age.
